When you go to a beach, you're looking to not just stay at the beach right? You might be interested in some minor amusement parks, cool inhabitable islands like Shell Island in PCB, amazing shopping destinations, and a really welcome feel. Maybe try to convince him that a place where there is more things to do will just give you more bang for your buck.
It's a condo on the beach but it's quite far from all the major attractions and such and won't be as annoying as any of the other hotels. If you aren't sure for the 22 year old, I'd say that if he wants somewhere quiet, book a hotel room at Landmark.
If you like somewhere that will entertain you and leave you wanting more than your best bet is PCB. The main thing in Fort Walton is the beach which isn't that great. Answer: My barber was born in Fort Walton and as I was explaining where I was going for vacation a few days ago he was telling me that it was a good idea not to go to Fort Walton.
